When it comes to designing your kitchen, what are your countertop choices?
What are your countertop choices?
Two the most popular options are granite and quartz, and we are going to explore the differences and why you would pick one over the other, when their costs are relatively the same.
Quartz Countertops are manufactured from natural quartz and resins. with is one of the hardest materials found in the earth. little pieces of metal and glass are usually added to create different looks. A Quartz Countertop is non porous, antibacterial and it’s resistant to staining, so you’ll never need to resealed it. I know you hear it over and over, but the clean, warm contemporary look is really popular and a quartz product is a great way to achieve that look in your kitchen. Other nice thing about quartz it has a large variety of colors to pick from in the whites and grays, with are extremely popular and one other nice about quartz: the material is virtually indestructible.
Granite Countertops are also a resilient material, its a natural rock and its cut and then polished for used it in kitchen, bathrooms, and other locations throughout your home. Unlike quartz, granite have few color options, because we are limited to what naturally occurs in the ground. It also requires more maintenance than quartz, because occasionally you’ll have to reseal them.
I wanted to do this shot in front of a large slab of granite, you can see here the beauty of the granite is there’s no one piece that’s alike, it all comes from the middle of the earth and no slab is similar or identical to the next and you can see here also, I always like to look at the granite in larger pieces cause no matter what, your gonna see variations, but again, that’s the beauty of the product. Today we see more trends in countertop with the new build up edges to give a more custom look, the waterfall edge is a contemporary, architectural style, with the material extending to the floor for one sleek continuous look, so, you can see there’s a lot of features and benefits to both, our quartz kitchen in a granite kitchen and what I tell you is this go to a design center where you can see both in a real life setting with lots of samples in a big variety where you can see it in a setting to see what you like as far as performance and aesthetics.
